Ghostwire: Tokyo reviews weren’t quite as positive as Deathloop, but it was still mostly well-received and is notable for being one of the few next-gen only games on the market, even two years after the PS5 and Xbox Series X consoles launched. Since Microsoft acquired Bethesda, it’s long been assumed that Ghostwire: Tokyo would eventually make its way to Xbox consoles, though all the marketing has continued to push it as a PS5-only game. That has changed with official artwork spotted at Bethesda’s publishing headquarters in London.

Noted Xbox insider Klobrille has posted an image on Twitter of Bethesda’s publishing headquarters in London, which has walls decorated with key art from the company’s various games. This art includes small blurbs that reveal additional information about each title, like their developer, release year, and platforms. The Ghostwire: Tokyo wall not only mentions PC and PS5, but it also notes Xbox Series X as one of the game’s supported platforms.
While some Xbox fans may take this as meaning Ghostwire: Tokyo will hit Xbox Series X in 2022, they shouldn’t hold their breath. It was previously confirmed that Ghostwire: Tokyo’s PS5 exclusivity will last for about one year, meaning it can’t come to Xbox Series X until after March 25, 2023. Assuming Ghostwire: Tokyo’s Xbox debut is handled the same as Deathloop, it’s likely it will launch for Series X with little advanced notice from Microsoft.
Whenever Ghostwire: Tokyo does come to Xbox Series X, it will almost certainly debut as a day one Xbox Game Pass game. Head of Xbox Phil Spencer has said that part of the reason Microsoft acquired Bethesda was to secure more content for the Game Pass subscription service, and so it wouldn’t make sense for Ghostwire: Tokyo to be an exception. After all, Deathloop hit Game Pass on the day that it finally released for Xbox consoles, and there’s no reason to assume Ghostwire: Tokyo will be any different.
Ghostwire: Tokyo’s Xbox debut will mark the end of Bethesda’s timed-exclusivity deals with PlayStation. Future Bethesda games, like the highly-anticipated open world RPG Starfield and the co-op shooter Redfall, will both hit Game Pass on day one as Xbox Series X console exclusive games.
Ghostwire: Tokyo is available now for PC and PS5 with an Xbox Series X version also in development.
