Other than a few minor drops here and there (that sold out within seconds), there have not been any significant changes to the availability of Sony’s console for over 14 days.
Fortunately, things are now starting to look up, with the official PlayStation storefront preparing for an imminent restock event. Here is the latest information for every major retailer in the U.S.
PS Direct PS5 Restock
The biggest development since we published our last update is related to Sony itself.
The PS5 manufacturer has announced that it will be taking orders for both the disc and digital edition of the console starting from November. The restock event is being run on an invite-only basis, so if you want to be considered for it then you will need to register your interest now.
Newsweek has already prepared a separate guide explaining all the details here.

Newegg PS5 Restock
Today’s Newegg shuffle consists entirely of PC gaming components, like motherboards and video cards.
While you can’t get a PS5 from the current lottery draw, you are able to find preowned units elsewhere on the Newegg website. If you decide to do this, keep in mind that any consoles you come across will likely be traded by third-party scalpers for an inflated cost.
For example, there is a standalone unit (without any games or peripherals included) listed on the website right now for $989, which is almost double the recommended manufacturer’s price.

Best Buy PS5 Restock
As we reported in our previous update, there was technically a Best Buy restock on Monday, October 11.
However, this sale was reserved exclusively for the chain’s premium “Totaltech” members. For a bit of context, you will need to pay an annual fee of $199 to register for this expensive loyalty scheme. So even though the console was being offered for its usual price on this occasion, there was a pretty big additional cost to weigh up.
There is still no word on when the next standard Best Buy restock will be taking place.

Walmart PS5 Restock
The last official PS5 restock at Walmart took place on Friday, September 27.
The merchant is overdue for another drop, given that it typically adheres to a fortnightly restock pattern. As such, we would advise that you keep an eye on the marketplace over the coming days, especially in the afternoon, as Walmart generally releases new units at around 3 p.m. ET.
In the meantime, you can browse the website for second-hand PS5 consoles, but these will be considerably overpriced. The recommended manufacturer’s cost for a PS5 disc edition is $499 and the all-digital model should set you back $399. Yet the preowned units at Walmart will often be listed for well over $900.

Target PS5 Restock
There was a short-lived PS5 drop at Target on Wednesday morning at 8:33 a.m. Unfortunately, only a handful of PS5 digital edition units were available here.
Not only was the restock quite small (consisting of just hundreds of supples available, rather than thousands), but you could not even place an order for delivery. Instead, you had to find a console in stock at a store within travelling distance, which created an inequitable situation where some regions had more opportunity than others.

GameStop PS5 Restock
It has been a while since GameStop last had the PS5 available, but it has been selling the Xbox Series X on a relatively frequent basis.
Lately, all of the outlet’s drops have been reserved exclusively for its “PowerUp Rewards Pro” members. If you want to sign-up for this loyalty scheme in anticipation of the next restock, you can do so on the GameStop website for $14.99.

Antonline PS5 Restock
Antonline did coordinate a small PS5 restock on Wednesday, October 13, but (like with Target) the supplies were very limited.
While you can no longer get a PS5 from the retailer, there are still a few Xbox Series S bundles up for grabs. For more details, read our latest Xbox restock update.

Sam’s Club PS5 Restock
As per our last update, there are no PS5 bundles available at Sam’s Club.
However, there is an Xbox Series S listed on the website. If you are interested in procuring Microsoft’s rival hardware, more information about this can be found here.

Costco doesn’t have any PlayStation 5 units for sale at the time of writing. If there is a restock over the coming days, dependable trackers like @mattswider and @GYXdeals will broadcast timely updates to their Twitter followers.
