While in early access, PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds sold over 26 million copies across all platforms, and it smashed Steam’s concurrent users record, with 3.14 million people playing the game at one time. One of the more astonishing stats is that the total, combined playtime for PUBG while it was in early access equates to over 310,000 years.

For all these PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds stats and more, check out the infographic below:

Some other interesting stats include the number of players killed by frying pans, with over 13 million players killed by the melee weapon during PUBG’s time in early access. It’s not clear if this means the frying pan was the most popular melee weapon in the game, but thanks to the infographic, we at least know the most popular firearms.

According to the data, the top three most popular weapons to use in PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds are the M416, M16A4, and AKM, respectively. However, that doesn’t mean they are the best guns for players to use. They’re just more common, and so it makes sense that they were equipped more than harder to find but arguably more efficient weapons, like the SCAR, for instance.

It’s clear by the PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds infographic that the game was extremely popular while in early access. However, now that the game has seen its full release on PC and is available in early access on Xbox One, it may become an even bigger hit. It will be interesting to see if PUBG can maintain and grow its massive player base in the months and years to come.

PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds is available now on PC and on Xbox One through the Game Preview program.
